Heat recovery unit

The heat recovery unit, also known as “recuperator” is an air-to-air plate heat exchanger. When a heat recovery unit is installed, the air that is leaving the chamber exchanges heat energy with the air coming into the chamber. In this way, the outside air enters the dryer with higher temperature than the outside. This way heating energy is saved up to 30%. Heat recovery units are completely made of aluminum with a special core and two fans for air exchange. The operation of the recuperator is controlled via a circuit breaker and a frequency inverter, so that they work according to the principle of PI regulation. The installation of a heat recovery system is also possible on the chambers of other manufacturers with automatic controllers MC-2000 / 3000. The installation of these systems provides reserves of thermal energy on the boiler and thus the expansion of drying capacities. Apart from apparent heating energy saving, use of recuperators also shortens time of drying and increases drying quality of timber. Investment in heat recovery units is minimal and return of investment period is very short.

Fans

The fan is manufactured in NIGOS-elektronik. The housing is made entirely of aluminum. The fan impeller is made of special shaped aluminum, which provides the same circulation in both directions with maximum efficiency. Balancing is powered by NIGOS-elektronik. Fan electric motors are class H adapted for use in drying kilns. Available fan dimensions Ø450 / 0.37kW; Ø560 / 0.75kW; Ø630 / 1,5kW; Ø800 / 3kW, Ø900 / 3/4 kW.

Heat exchanger – heater

The nominal power of the heat exchanger is adjusted to the amount of material in the kiln. The dimensions of the heater and the number of tubes are adjusted to the conditions and the drying process. Each high finned tube is made of stainless steel (INOX), diameter = 25.4 mm, with “extruded” aluminum slats 15 mm high, and a step of 2.54 mm. Depending on the working medium, they can be steam or hot water and the powers are standardized at 40kW; 60kW; 80kW, 100kW.

Substation

If there are 2 or more chambers, the heating substation is installed. Allows uniformly heating of all chambers regardless of the drying regime. Each drying kiln has its own circulating pump, three-way valve, manual valves, thermometers on the feed and feed back pipe. The substation is produced and tested in the NIGOS-elektronik factory, and installation and insulation are done at the installation site.

Humidifying system

Humidifying system is double-sided with high pressure (pump, nozzles, valve, filter, pipes). Soft water is required for a humidifying system, because otherwise the scale sticks to the heaters and reduces their efficiency. The pump is high pressure up to 10 bar. The nozzles are specially designed for high pressure. The nozzles are mounted on a stainless steel pipe below the heat exchanger at the rear of the chamber and at the front above the door. The direction of humidification is harmonized with the direction of blowing of the fan. This humidifying system enables finer fog and uniform humidification of the air.

Flaps

Flaps are an integral part of the air exchange system. We manufacture different types of flaps (suction, exhaust, roof, wall, with servo motor, with fan, floating and relief valves for steaming chambers). The type, number, size and method of flaps installation depend on the type and size of the chamber.
The flaps are made entirely of aluminum. The control is done automatically and they open in the air exchange phase and in the cooling phase. Each servo flap has an independent servo drive.

Chamber construction

The complete structure is made of aluminum profiles, welded and connected with stainless steel screws. The sub ceiling is made of aluminum sinusoid connected with stainless steel screws. Cassettes made of aluminum sheet 1mm, sealing with silicone of high resistance to moisture and acid from wood, insulating material for filling is mineral wool hard pressed 100mm with FDPL felt. The statics of the construction enables high load-bearing capacity and resistance to wind gusts.

Chamber doors (main and control)

The complete structure is made of aluminum profiles, welded and connected with stainless steel screws. Cassettes made of aluminum sheet 1mm, sealing with silicone of high resistance to moisture and acid from wood, insulating material for filling is mineral wool hard pressed 100mm with felt. Door opening mechanism: The type of door mechanism is sliding with a support rail. One mechanism serves multiple doors. The rails are made of steel IPE 120 profiles that are hot-dip galvanized.
Control door: Completely made of aluminum. They have a built-in safety handle to open from the inside. This prevents the danger of someone accidentally being trapped in the dryer.

Electric control panel (power electric switch board)

The electric control panel housing is made of plasticized steel sheet. It is equipped with an automatic controller, frequency inverters, fuses and protections for all drying kiln components. Each electric control panel is developed, manufactured and tested in the NIGOS-elektronik factory.
